About:
iNumSys Lab is an innovative software tool designed to help students practice and master number systems effectively.
The tool engages students by requiring them to practice number systems for a specified period. It then presents exercise questions, challenging students to convert numbers between binary and other base systems, and vice versa, enhancing their understanding and proficiency.
There are two exercises - conversion of a given number (in the specific base format) into a binary pattern, and conversion of a 16-bit binary number into a specified base format. This tool is an updated version of the HU DLD labs tool. The screenshot of Exercise #1 is shown in Figure D3. The software also indicates whether the answer entered by a user is correct or wrong, as shown in the figure below.

iNumSys Lab generates questions randomly, making it an excellent tool for assessing students’ aptitude in lab settings and beyond. At the end of each session, the tool provides a detailed report, including the duration of practice, questions answered correctly, and areas where the student made mistakes, offering valuable insights into their progress.
This tool has already been successfully implemented in multiple schools, proving its effectiveness in enhancing students’ understanding of number systems.
